The 8th largest iron ore exporter of iron ore Russia has exported around 1.58 MnT iron ore in Jan’17, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a decrease of 24% M-o-M as it was 2.08 MnT in Dec’16. Compared with the numbers for the month of Jan’16 Russia’s iron ore export has seen a significant increase of 86% Y-o-Y.
In Jan’17, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 0.78 MnT, down by 27% M-o-M but up by 109% Y-o-Y compared to Jan’16. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 0.8 MnT, down by 27% M-o-M however up by 67% Y-o-Y compared to Jan’16.
Russia iron ore exports were chiefly directed to Poland followed by China, Turkey, Germany and Finland, etc. in Jan’17, Russian exports to Poland were recorded at 0.34 MnT, China 0.23 MnT, Turkey 0.23 MnT, Germany 0.20 MnT, Finland 0.13 MnT, Netherlands 0.11 MnT, Czech Republic 0.11 MnT and Slovakia 0.10, MnT etc.
