Russian companies have launched regular chartered ships to India to ensure uninterrupted coal supply amid its rising demand. Both the countries are in talks to revive the Vladivostok-Chennai shipping corridor as part of partnership in the Indo-Pacific region. Russian consignments via Iran are making its way to Indian port following operationalisation of International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC). Authorities in India have urged Iran to facilitate regular use of the 7,200-kilometre long INSTC.
