Russian Finish Long Steel Exports Fall by 15 Percent

Russia, the world’s 6th largest steel producer country lessen its long steel exports by about 50,000 MT (15.62%) in the month of May’18 on monthly comparison.

As per the customs, the nation has exported about 270,000 MT Finish Long steel in May 2018 against 320,000 MT in April 2018, lessen by 15.62% on monthly premises. On contrary Y-o-Y, exports were gain by 3.84% against 260,000 MT in May’17.

Considerably sub-commodity wise Rebar has contributed the major exports proportionate and registered 190,000 MT contributes around 70.37% followed by Angle and Shapes 50,000 MT registered by 18.51% and MS Wire 30,000 MT stood by 11.12%.

As per the SteelMint’s assessment in May 2018, the crude steel production of the Russia was around 6.23 MnT which has been stretched by around 3.31% from Apr’18 at 6.03 MnT, on the other hand ferrous scrap exports seems improved by around 30% with 0.61 MnT in May’18 against 0.47 MnT in Apr’18.

Country wise:

In the month of May 2018, the largest importer of Finish Long Steel from Russia was Kazakhstan – 50,000 MT, Belarus at 30,000 MT & Lithuania, Germany, and Mongolia remain at 20,000 MT each.
