Russia: MMK’s cold-rolling mill starts operations after reconstruction work

Russian steelmaker, MMK Group, has informed that it has launched its twin-stand reversing cold-rolling mill named Mill 1700 after the completion of reconstruction work. The mill, having a capacity of 800,000 t of cold-rolled sheets per year, was installed in 2002. Since commissioning, over 9.35 mn t of cold-rolled steel has been produced at the mill. In Feb’20, production at the mill was halted for reconstruction and modernisation work. The company expects to produce 350,000 t of cold-rolled steel at the mill in 2021.
