Russia: Metalloinvest to raise pellet plant capacity to 4.5 mn t/year

Leading Russian iron ore producer, Metalloinvest, has commenced reconstruction of its pellet plant at the Alexey Ugarov OMEK metallising unit, as per latest reports. The reconstruction involves replacing existing equipment and constructing the sixth technological pelletising line. After refurbishment, the capacity of the plant will increase by 10% to 4.5 mn t of oxidised pellets per year. The commissioning is scheduled for Q4CY’22.
