Russia: Manganese alloys exports rise in Jan’22

Russia’s manganese alloys (silico manganese and ferro manganese) exports rose by 279% m-o-m to 28,467 t in Jan’22, as per customs data. On a yearly basis, the volumes spiked by 476%.

• Ferro manganese exports (14,939 t) increased due to a rise in demand from USA (7,751 t) and the Netherlands (3,441 t) owing to lower inventories held by seaborne buyers.
• The Netherlands and Ukraine remained the largest importers of Russian silico manganese.
