Russian President, Vladimir Putin launched the largest East Siberian natural gas field, Kovykta. This will enable Russia to increase gas exports to China amid rising tensions between Moscow and the West. Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Western countries have reduced dependence on Russia. The launch of this gas field is a way leading to an increase in exports to the East.
