Russia: Iron Ore Exports Increase 50% Y-o-Y in Jun’18

Russia, world’s 8th largest exporter of iron ore exported 1.76 MnT iron ore in June’18, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs. The export stood up by 50% in June’18 as against June’17 exports at 1.17 MnT.

Russian iron ore exports stood stable on monthly basis as against 1.72 MnT in May’18.

Agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports increased to 1.68 MnT in June’18, up by 58% as against 1.06 MnT in May’18. However, on yearly basis the exports increased to more than two folds as compared to 0.67 MnT in June’17.

Non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports witnessed significant decline of 88% in exports to 0.08 MnT in June’18, compared to 0.66 MnT in May’18. The Y-o-Y exports in June’18 declined 84% as against June’17 export which stood at 0.5 MnT.

Russian Iron ore exports to Ukraine drops 52% M-o-M

Ukraine stood the largest importer of iron ore from Russia in June’18 at 0.45 MnT, contributing 26% of total share of Russian exports as against 0.93 MnT in May’18.
Turkey and Germany depicted significant rise in monthly imports at 0.2 MnT (up by four folds M-o-M) and at 0.19 MnT (up by more than two folds on monthly basis) respectively.
