Russia: Iron Ore Exports down 20% in Nov’17

Russia, the 8th largest exporter of iron ore exported 1.85 MnT iron ore in Nov’17, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.

Russian iron ore exports have decreased by 20% M-o-M in Nov’17 as against 2.31 MnT in Oct’17. It also witnessed a rise of 30% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 against 1.42 MnT in Nov’16.

During Jan-Nov’17 Russia iron ore export increased by 17% to 19.19 MnT against 16.46 MnT same period last year.

An agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were up by 8% M-o-M to 1.33  MnT in Nov’17 against 1.23 MnT in Oct’17. The Y-o-Y change in Nov’17 depicted an increase as compared to 0.55 MnT in Nov’16.

Non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports decreased by 52% to 0.51 MnT in Nov’17 compared to Oct’17 which was stood at 1.07 MnT. It was also by down 41% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 as compared to 0.87 MnT in Nov’16.

Country-wise Russia Iron Ore Export-:

China stood the largest importer of iron ore from Russia in Nov’17 at 0.52 MnT Contributing 28% of total share of Russian exports, followed by Ukraine 0.28 MnT, Finland 0.24 MnT, Poland 0.15 MnT and Germany at 0.15 MnT.
