According to latest release by Russian customs data,flat steel exports which includes (7208- HR coils/Plates,7209 – CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) witness increase of 24% M-o-M basis in Apr’18 to 0.87 MnT which was 0.70 MnT in Mar’18.
On yearly basis nation’s flat steel exports moved up by 4% in Apr’18 against 0.84 MnT a year ago.
During first four months of CY18 ( Jan- Apr) nation has exported 2.97 MnT of flat steel,plummet by 9% against 3.26 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
Major steelmakers in Russia are currently focusing on export market owing to higher profit margins.However weak rouble in domestic market pushes steel manufacturers to prefer exports rather than selling in domestic market.

Country-Wise Russia Flat Steel Exports in Apr’18-Turkey was major flat steel importer of Russia and has imported 0.26 MnT of flat steel in Apr’18,fell by 7% against 0.28 MnT in Mar’18.
Second largest importer was Belarus with 0.05 MnT which remain unchanged since past two months.
Third largest importer was Poland at 0.09 MnT in Apr’18 surge significantly against 0.05 MnT in Mar’18.
Meanwhile Kazakhstan imported 0.03 MnT followed by USA at 0.05 MnT and Latvia at 0.05 MnT in Apr’18.
