According to latest release by Russian customs data, flat steel exports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 – CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) move down by 13% in Q1CY18 against corresponding quarter of previous year.
Country has exported 2.1 MnT flat steel in Q1 CY18 which was assessed at 2.42 MnT in Q1 CY17.
On monthly basis nation’s flat steel exports stood at 0.7 MnT higher by 15% in Mar’18 against 0.61 MnT a month ago.
In Q1 CY18, CIS HRC export offers stood at an average of USD 585/MT, FoB Black Sea against USD 510/MT, FoB in Q1 CY17. Increased offers in overseas market resulted in increased export volumes.
However on Y-o-Y basis the same slumped by 26% in Mar’18 as compared to 0.95 MnT in Mar’17.

Turkey flat steel imports from Russia fall in Q1 CY18-Turkey was major flat steel importer of Russian flat steel and has imported 0.66 MnT of flat steel and occupied the share of 31.26% in Q1CY18 Russia flat steel exports. In Q1 CY17 Turkey imported 0.87 MnT flat steel.
Second largest importer was Belarus with 0.16 MnT and accounts for 8% of share.
Meanwhile Kazakhstan imported 0.11 MnT with 5% of share followed by other major flat steel importers like Egypt and Poland each at 0.10 MnT occupying 5% share and Uzbekistan at 0.09 MnT ( 4.34%) in Q1CY18.
