According to Russian customs data, flat steel which includes (7208 – HR coils/Plates,7209 – CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) exports have come down considerably by 35% to 0.64 MnT in Jan’17 in contrast to 0.99 MnT in Dec’16.
On yearly basis, Russia Flat steel exports are down by 2% in Jan’17 against Jan’16. In Jan’16 country’s flat steel exports stood at 0.65 MnT.
Grade-wise Russia Flat Steel Exports in Jan’17
If grade-wise analysis is made, then 7208 exports have shown significant increase of 33.4% in Dec’16 against Nov’16 whereas 7209 and 7225 surged in Dec’16 against previous month. Although, other grades exports like 7212 and 7210 declined in Dec’16 as compared to Nov’16.

Country-wise Russia Flat Steel Exports in Jan’17
Turkey was the major importer of flat steel from Russia and has imported 0.22 MnT flat steel in Jan’17 against 0.27 MT in Dec’16. Other major flat steel importers from Russia in Jan’17 were Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan & Mexico.
