Russia, the world’s 5th largest steel producer country witnessed fall in its long steel exports by about 110,000 MT (29%) in the month of Jan’18 on monthly comparison.
As per the customs, the nation has exported about 270,000 MT Finish Long steel in January 2018 against 380,000 MT in December 2017, fall by 29% on monthly premises. On the contrary Y-o-Y, imports were gain by 35% against 200,000 MT in Jan’17.
Bar’s & Rods have contributed the major exports proportionate and registered 200,000 MT followed by Angle and Shapes 60,000 MT and MS Wire 20,000 MT.
As per the SteelMint’s assessment in January 2018, the crude steel production of the Russia was around 5.7 MnT which has been slightly fall to around 4% from December against 5.93 MnT on the other hand ferrous scrap exports also dipped to 39% M-o-M basis at 0.33 MnT in Jan’18 against 0.54 MnT in Dec’17.
Country wise:
In the month of January 2018, the largest importer of Finish Long Steel from Russia was Kazakhstan – 40,000 MT, Taiwan – 30,000 MT & Belarus at 20,000 MT, while remaining small quantities being imported by neighbouring nations.
Similarly During 2017 (Jan-Dec) the major Finish Long steel importers are Kazakhstan 0.68 MnT (20%), Belarus 0.35 MnT (10.35%), Taiwan 0.27 MnT (7.92%), Lithuania 0.24 MnT (6.97%) & Ukraine 0.17 MnT (5.13%).
