Russia annually exports around 5-6 MnT ferrous scrap and it is world’s fourth foremost ferrous scrap exporter preceded by EU,USA and Japan. Russia exported 5.32 MnT in CY16.
After witnessing fall in its ferrous scrap exports in May’17, Russian ferrous scrap exports raised up by 39% M-o-M in Jun’17 and stood at 0.54 MnT as it was 0.39 MnT ferrous scrap exports in May’17.
Russia’s ferrous scrap exports were noted at 0.39 MnT in Jun’16 therefore, again on yearly comparison the 39 % Y-o-Y lift has recorded in Jun’17.
During first half of CY17 (Jan-Jun’17), Russian ferrous scrap exports summed up at 2.00 MnT, lesser by 21 % against 2.52 MnT ferrous scrap exports in the same period(Jan-Jun’16) in H1-CY16.
Top Russian loading ports were North-West Federal district, Far East Federal district, Central Federal district and Southern Federal district.
Turkey remained the top destination for Russian ferrous scrap exports-
In considered month, Turkey’s share was highest at 0.30 MnT of Russian ferrous scrap exports followed by Belarus (0.12 MnT), South Korea (0.08 MnT), and Spain (0.03 MnT).
In H1 CY17, Out of total 2 MnT Russian ferrous scrap exports, Turkey occupied highest (43%) share followed by other major importers Belarus (26%), South Korea (21%), Spain (6%) and Greece (1%) respectively.
