Russia: Ferro silicon exports edge lower, m-o-m, in Jan’22

As per customs, the second-largest ferro silicon producer in Russia exported 32,274 t in Jan’22, down 23% m-o-m and 10% y-o-y. Exports declined mainly due to the drop in imports from Japan (17,142 t, down 69% m-o-m) and Turkey (3,025 t, down 59% m-o-m). In contrast, India’s imports of Russian ferro silicon increased by 272% m-o-m as a result of higher prices of domestic ferro silicon in Jan.
