Russia is one of the largest exporter of billet from CIS nations and has been actively involved in the exporters market. According to the fresh released data by Russia’s custom, the billet exports from the nation almost remain firm in August 2017.
Russia’s billet exports are reported at 1.09 MnT in Aug’17 against 1.1 MnT in Jul’17. Prior to this, on M-o-M in July’17 it decreased about 1.78% against 1.12 MnT in June’17.
Similarly, on yearly premises, billet exports decline by 6.03% in Aug’17 against 1.16 MnT in Aug’16.
In the first 8 months of CY17 (Jan-Aug’17), billet exports decline marginally by 3.7% to 9.37 MnT against 9.73 MnT in CY16 in same duration.
With considering Steel demand from South East Asian countries, the crude steel production of Russia was marked at 70.84 MnT in 2016. Meanwhile, in 2017 (Jan’17-Aug’17) the figure of crude steel production stood at 46.64 MnT.
Country wise:
During Aug 2017, the largest importer of Russia made Billet/Blooms was Taiwan, Turkey & Mexico which imported 250,000 MT, 220,000 MT & 210,000 MT respectively.
Similarly the total Billet exports during CY 2017 (Jan-Aug), the major buyers of Russian Billets was – Taiwan 1.99 MnT (21.25%), followed by Turkey which remains the second largest importer of Russian billet and imported around 1.64 MnT billet. Inline, Mexico 1.34 MnT (14.26%) & Belgium 1.08 MnT (11.50%).
