Rising Steel Production Lowers Met Coke Exports in China

Met Coke consumption in China has increased due to rising steel production there.

Export quantities of Met Coke have thus gone lower in that country.

Met Coke alongwith semi-finished coke exports from China had fallen significantly during May’16 as a consequence of prevalence of strong domestic demand.

According to customs data of that country, the exports had fallen in the month to 570,000 tonne from 1,230,000 tonne in the same month last year. The export volume in May’16 is also lesser than that in Apr’16, at 690,000 tonne.

Even in the first five months of 2016, Met coke exports from China have fallen to 4 MnT from 4.18 MnT in the corresponding period of the preceding year.
