The impact of the rising Coking Coal prices is now showing on Met Coke prices in India. Most of the domestic Met Coke producers have raised their ex-works prices in view of the up-swinging Coking Coal prices.
On a week-on-week assessment, international Met Coke offers have remained unchanged. The latest offer for 64% CSR Met Coke is assessed at USD 276/MT FoB China. Also, the recent offer for the 62% CSR Met Coke is assessed at USD 273/MT FoB China. Both the offers have stayed stable at the week-ago rates.

These offers amount to: USD 288/MT CFR India and USD 285/MT CFR India respectively for Indian buyers.
Several Met Coke producers in India have hiked their ex-works prices as Coking Coal prices were traversing upwards.
In the west coast, the price hikes were at: INR 500/MT, INR 1000/MT, INR 1,500/MT. However, producers in the east coast have kept their ex-works prices unchanged.
The prevailing ex-works prices in India of the Blast Furnace grade are: INR 21,500/MT(east coast) and INR 22,000/MT, INR 24,000/MT, INR 25,000/MT and INR 26,500/MT(west coast).

However, demand in the country is lackluster as buyers are waiting for correction in Coking Coal prices.
