RINL offers 30,000 tons Pig Iron for Export Purpose

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has offered Basic grade Pig iron to buyers based in the international market, through an export tender today.

  • Quantity: 30,000 tons
  • Specification: Si% 0.05
  • Last date for submission of bids 15.00 HRS IST on the 15th
  • Opening of Technical and Price bids 15.00 HRS IST on the 15th and 17th respectively
  • Date of Delivery of material: 30 June
  • Offers would be valid till 22nd of the month

This quantity offered by RINL is the lot which Stemcor (London) had denied to take earlier. This is the reason why the date of delivery is just two weeks away from the tender opening date.

For tender floated on 26 February, RINL had finalized 30,000 tons Pig iron export deal with Stemcor (London), on 7 March.

RINL was to deliver the material by 31 March to Stemcor. But it was delayed, as the exporter was looking into supply of Pig iron to its MoU customer.

A couple of parties seem to be interested to participate in the tender floated today.

They indicated that there is still no clarity as to why was RINL holding the material for more than two months.
