Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, (RINL), a state owned steel manufacturer is the largest buyer of NMDC (Chhattisgarh) Iron ore for the month of September 2013 (till 24th Sep). According to a provisional data, NMDC has loaded almost 248 rakes in the month of September (till 24th) from Chhattisgarh, each containing an average of 3,850 tonnes of Iron ore.
Out of 248 rakes loaded from NMDC's railway siding based in Bacheli and Kirandul, 62 rakes have been supplied to RINL at Vizag, 42 rakes to Essar at Vizag, 33 rakes to KIOCL at Vizag, 21 rakes to JSW at Vizag and rest to manufacturers based in Chhattisgarh and other parts of the country.
NMDC had produced 27.2 MnT in 2012-2013 and sold 26.3 MnT. Nearly 70% of Iron ore's production comes from Chhattisgarh mines and rest from mines based in Karnataka.
