Renewable energy sources may overtake coal use by CY25, as anticipated by IEA. Renewables are to account for more than one third of total world’s electricity generation. IEA suggests that by 2026 renewables and nuclear will contribute to around 50% of world’s power generation, which stood at 40% in CY23. The world’s electricity demand is expected to rise with 3.4% yearly average between CY24 and CY26.
