Re-bar prices moved up by Rs 200-400/MT at few mandis'
following a hike seen in MS ingot prices.
According to traders based in Ahemdabad, “Demand has improved
slightly in anticipation of further rise in Ingot prices. A quantity of 200 MT is
expected to be booked by Tuesday evening.”
However, Re-bar prices at mandis' in South remain unchanged as construction
activities has been hit badly after the sand mining ban was implemented on April 1, 2012. The disruption in supply of sand has majorly impacted construction activities in Andhra Pradesh. The cost
for sand has inflated to almost 3 times the prices seen in the month of March.
