Private Power in Punjab to cost more by 0.80 Paise/unit

“Private players in Punjab have made their power expensive by Rs.0.80 per unit by increasing their indirect duty on basic bid price of power” confirmed an Ingot Manufacturer based in Mandi Gobindgarh. He also said, “Power prices in Punjab at present is Rs 5.63 per unit including all taxes, while as of private power they were fetching were Rs 5.50-65 per unit which will become now Rs. 6.30 per unit”

Steel Long at NCDEX reacted on the news and moved up by 200 to Rs 34,240 for May expiry.Physical market also noticed some movement as sellers raised their offers anticipating higher production cost in near term.
