With proposed hike in coal prices by Coal India and increasing demand of power in summers, State Government has sought hike in power tariffs for industrial, commercial and domestic usage.
Steel industry will be affected with this hike, sources report that charges might go up as much as 20% for industrial though steel industry is opposing this hike.
“It is sure that power prices will go up, but to what extent it is not confirmed. Demand for finish has been good at lower levels. We do not see steel prices to correct in near term”, said a steel manufacturer based in Raipur.
