Possible reclassification likely to enable scrap imports in China

Although steel scrap shipments into China are banned at present, discussions have been taking place about a possible reclassification that would enable imports to resume said Mr. Roper, GM of Shanghai Metals Market at BIR. We are not anticipating steel scrap being allowed into China from early next year, but think that there will be some kind of reclassification – but that is more likely to happen at the end of next year.
