Pig Iron suppliers in the CIS expect deals at improved offers

Pig Iron exports prices in Ukraine and Russia move up on account of steady iron ore prices, high scrap import offers in Turkey and also as they wish to avoid any selling pressure.

Pig Iron was last sold at $360/MT FOB Sea of Azov by Ukrainian suppliers and at $20/MT more, the next deal is expected as buying activities continue to take place in good numbers.

To South European Pig Iron users, offers stand around $400/MT FOB Sea of Azov. A Pig Iron manufacturer in Ukraine, called Mitinvest is not sure about its December production while another named Donetskstal has sold a third of 110,000 tons of total December output .

Whereas, Russian sellers closed deals at $380/MT FOB Black Sea and are hopeful for the next one at $400/MT.

Pig Iron offers might not move too high as finished steel demand is poor and scrap purchases might come down due to rise in offers further.
