Most of Pig Iron manufacturers across the country keep prices unchanged for both steel and foundry grade.
“There has been no improvement in demand this week, furnaces are running at low capacity and we are not hopeful that buying volumes might show any improvement by end of the week”, said market sources.
Offers reduce by Rs 200/MT and Rs 500/MT at Raipur, Chhattisgarh (steel grade) and Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab (both steel foundry grade) respectively on account of low buying volumes.
Increase in demand of steel grade Pig Iron from Durgapur pushed prices up by Rs 200/MT at Giridih, Jharkhand.
