Turkey imported less of Pig iron in January to March 2013 as steelmakers had lowered the production capacities due to expensive iron ore available then.
A total of 277,283 MT was imported in Q1 of 2013 i.e. 131,973 MT in February and 85,391 MT in March.
1.38 MnMT was imported in 2012.
In Q1 of 2013, 175,020 MT was sold by Ukraine and Russia supplied 88,068 MT to Turkey.
In March, Ukraine exported the maximum quantity 69,994 MT and Russia 12,380 MT.
