Global Pig Iron production was 94.4 million metric tonne (mmt) in July 2012, up by 1.6% in comparison to June 2012 and by 0.7% yoy, states preliminary data of World Steel Association.
According to worldsteel, China was world's top Pig Iron producer in July 2012, contributing 60% of global production i.e. 56.3 mmt which was 2% more in comparison to July 2011.
In Jan to July 2012, total output moved up by 2.1% to 655.7 mmt as compared to the same period in 2011.
