Weak buying activities in Pig iron across the international market is not allowing exporters of Pig iron based in Brazil to hike prices.
In Minas Gerais state of Southeastern Brazil, exporters of Pig iron are continuing to offer their material at prices standing in the range of $370-390/MT FOB.
Offers have remained firm for about a couple of months i..e. since January, which was quoted at $360/MT FOB in December 2012.
Importers of Pig iron are willing to make purchases provided they are offered at lower prices.
Weak European economy and enough of stock available with steel mills in Asia, South Korea and Taiwan has accounted for low sales.
