Pig Iron exports from Brazil drop in Jan to June 12

Brazil exported 1,567,000 t of Pig Iron in first six months of this year, reduction by 19.9% YoY, according to Brazilian trade statistics available in Tokyo.

From Jan to June 12, exports to USA fall by 18.2% YoY to1,090,000 t, China by 72.5% YoY to  67,000 t, Mexico by 20% YoY to 61,000 tons and Netherlands by 46.8% YoY to 57,000 t. Only Taiwan saw an increase of 1.2% YoY at 105,000 t.

Pig Iron exports was down by 11.6% in June 2012 as compared to May 12 which was the lowest this year and  by 36.1% YoY to 201,000 t. 

Brazil supplied maximum to US i.e. 122,000 t, low by 36.1% YoY. Colombia was second at 31,000 t with no imports in June last year and Taiwan was third at 22,000 t, up by 70.4% YoY.
