Pig Iron exports reduced to Turkey from Russia and Ukraine the last week on account of a$15/MT drop in East Mediterranean's scrap prices. 500 to 3,000 mt of Pig Iron was sold at $379-380/MT CFR Marmara.
Ukrainian exporters raised Pig Iron prices on thursday as scrap prices recovered and are offering at $375/MT FOB Mariupol to buyers in Italy with a freight of $30/MT who are interested to import the semi finished material due to high priced scrap in local market and strong euro against the US dollar.
Pig Iron prices in Black Sea slipped by 10/MT in a week to $355-365/MT FOB as the freight for small cargoes is at $20/MT to Turkey. Looking at the scrap markets in Mediterranean, sellers in the Black Sea are waiting for orders and also buyers wish to purchase material before the last week of the month.
Brazilian Pig Iron suppliers sold out Pig Iron at prices quoted in the range of $400-405/MT CFR to North America, where imports has slowed down.
