Petcoke imports into India during Sep’16 shrunk around 17.8% over that in Aug’16 as high import offers restricted many buyers in the country from importing but to source the material from the home markets.
According to data compiled by CoalMint Research, Petcoke imports into the country during the month under consideration were at 1.43 MnT, which was lower than that in the previous month, at 1.74 MnT.

Origin-wise, USA accounted for the highest share in the total import volume during the month.

Among the various ports in India, the Kandla port had handled the highest share of the import traffic during the month under consideration, followed by the Karaikal port.

The major importers during the month under review are: India Cement, Ramco Cement, Dalmia Cement, JSW Steel, JK Lakshmi Cement, Swiss Singapore, among others.
