Petcoke imports into India in Mar’17 declined by 9.7% to 0.83 MnT from 0.92 MnT in Feb’17, according to data compiled by CoalMint Research.

During FY17, around 13.85 MnT of Petcoke was imported into the country, and that was higher by 130.8% over the imports of around 6 MnT in FY16.
Conforming to the usual trend, Petcoke imports from USA was the highest in the total import basket for the month.

Among the various ports in the country, the Kandla port had handled the highest volume of import traffic during the month under review, followed by the Krishnapatnam and Vizag ports.

In the coming days, Petcoke imports are likely to increase as cement production in the country is going on in full swing.
