Iron pellet prices in Bellary have gone up by Rs 200/t on short supply of iron ore and decent demand for pellets from sponge manufacturers.
” We have raised our pellet prices by Rs 200/t. 63% Fe is offered around Rs 8500/t. There is certainly shortfall of iron ore in the market. Also looking at demand from sponge manufacturers, we have raised our prices. ” said a marketing manager at pellet manufacturing unit in Bellary.
Sponge prices at Hyderabad have gone up by Rs 300-500/t, where as Bellary is trading at Rs 20500-600/t (Ex-works).
Recently pellet prices at Orissa had also gone up by Rs 250/t after NMDC raised its iron ore prices by Rs 400/t.
