Pakistani buyer books Indonesian 6400 GAR coal at $150/t

In a confirmed deal, a supramax vessel of Indonesian coal has been booked at $150/t CNF Qasim, Pakistan, for Aug’21 shipment to a buyer from the textile sector. CoalMint gathered from market participants that Pakistani buyers have decided against buying South African- and Australian-origin coal due to high prices. Cement factories based in north Pakistan are opting for coal from neighbouring Afghanistan that has calorific value of 6500-6800 NAR and ranges between $152-158/t.
