Pakistan: Thermal coal imports plunge 87% m-o-m in Jan’23

Pakistan’s thermal coal imports in Jan’23 were recorded at 86,550 t, a whopping 87% m-o-m decline as against 689,255 t in Dec’22. Imports have fallen amid an economic crisis. Mozambique was the only exporter in the month whereas imports from other key destinations, Indonesia and South Africa, remained nil.
