Imported scrap prices in Pakistan have moved up in the recent deals concluded. Following increase in imported scrap prices in Turkey and Pakistan traders taking position, imported scrap prices in Pakistan have also moved up by around USD 10/MT W-o-W.
UK origin Shredded scrap in containers was heard to have traded at USD 370/MT, CFR Pakistan yesterday. Following this, offers from suppliers have also increased. Shredded scrap offers from Europe are heard around USD 370-375/MT, CFR Pakistan.
Last week Shredded scrap offers from UK was heard at USD 360-365/MT, CFR. Thus, this week offers have climbed by USD 5-10/MT W-o-W.
Offers for Dubai origin HMS 1 also remained on the higher side this week and are assessed around USD 365-370/MT, CFR Port Qasim. Scrap offers from Dubai have increased post VAT implementation.
“A bulk cargo containing UK origin Shredded scrap was offered at around USD 380/MT, CFR. However no deal was heard to have concluded yet.”
While Ship breaking prices fell by USD 10/LDT W-o-W to USD 440/LDT for dry bulk cargo and USD 450/LDT, CNF Pakistan.
Imported scrap prices in Turkey intact – Scrap prices for US origin HMS (80:20) is assessed at USD 351-352/MT, CFR Turkey. High rebar sales prices have supported scrap prices. Since beginning of last week imported scrap prices have increased by around USD 10/MT W-o-W.
