Pakistan: Ferrous scrap imports fall by 11%, m-o-m, in Dec’21

Leading South Asian ferrous scrap importer, Pakistan, has recorded a straight 11% drop in seaborne bookings in Dec’21.
Imports stood at 410,000 t in Dec against 460,000 t in Nov, as per SteelMint data, a fall due to subdued construction activity in the country coupled with currency depreciation.
On a y-o-y basis, import volumes declined by 13% from 470,000 t in Dec’20.
