Pakistan’s imports of ferrous scrap have dried up in the last couple of days, as per reports. Scrap import prices witnessed a marginal drop since the beginning of this week, as per SteelMint assessment.
- SteelMint’s bi-weekly assessment for containerised shredded scrap is at $540-545/t CFR Port Qasim, down by $5-10/t compared to the previous assessment on 27 Jul’21.
- UK-origin containerised shredded scrap offers are at $545-547/t CFR, while buyers are placing bids at around $540-545/t CFR Port Qasim, as per sources.
- A few trades for 2,000 t of containerised shredded material in all were heard at $542-543/t CFR recently.
- Market sentiments have turned slightly bearish after the decline in Turkey’s scrap import prices.
