Pakistan’s import prices of ferrous scrap have declined further, as per sources. Scrap import prices have been dropping since the beginning of this week.
- SteelMint’s bi-weekly assessment for containerised shredded scrap stands at $530-535/t CFR Port Qasim, down by $5-10/t compared to the previous assessment on 3 Aug’21.
- US-origin shredded material is being offered at $530/t CFR, while buyers are hesitant to buy at the moment.
- Deals for 2,000 t of containerised UK-origin shredded material for the high seas were heard at $525-530/t CFR recently.
- The market is drifting down and traders are expecting a price correction in the short term, SteelMint understands.
