Pakistan’s bulk HRC import volumes increased by 51% m-o-m to 29,794 t in Jan’23. Import shipments had gradually slumped to mere 19,728 t in Dec’22 from the levels of 83,552 t in Aug’22. Demand in the country had remained slow amid political instability. Also, the currency had been depreciating against USD ($) since Oct’22. 1 PKR stood at $0.004512 in Oct’22. In Jan’23, it declined to $0.004278.
