Bulk hot-rolled coil (HRC) shipments into Pakistan have dropped to 22,549 tonnes (t) in Apr’22, the lowest since Aug’20. Moreover, volumes dropped by 51% y-o-y from 46,154 t in Apr’21, whereas volumes fell by 20% from 28,178 t a month ago. Political instability, high raw-material costs, volatile HRC prices and global trade disruptions due to the Russia-Ukraine war are weighing on buying interest.
