Punjab commercial tax department has announced compulsory online e-billing system for goods worth above Rs 3 lakhs. It major impact will be on steel industry due to high material cost.
Manufacturer based in Mandi Gobindgarh said, “Government wants to hold the trading of non billed steel. The major impact will be on Scrap trading as the material being sold without bill”. Today scrap sold at premium of Rs 500-700/tone as online billing date comes close at Rs 28200-300 that was earlier Rs 27500 (without bill)
