OMC’s Chrome Ore Prices rise across all Grades

Bhubaneswar: Prices of all grades Chrome ore have slightly increased in the e-auction conducted by Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on 7 Mar, 2014. The price hike has been attributed to limited amounts of Chrome ore on offer for both inside & outside state buyers.

While in the last e-auction, there were 73,300 MT of friable Chrome ore for sale, however this time the amount was only 56,000 MT. Out of this, 39,200 MT are for the state based buyers. While, there were only 6,000 MT of Chrome ore concentrate in February. The amount has slightly increased to 7,000 MT for this time (March).

The +54 grade friable Chrome ore offers have increased by 3.29% & 9.81% for the inside & outside quota respectively.
