OMC chrome ore prices dropped by up to 29% in the December round of e-auction. While the +54 grade friable chrome ore at South Kaliapni mines dropped by 29% to INR 10,191 from INR 14,377 in October, the 52-54 grade too dropped by 23% to be sold at the floor price of INR 9,525. Similarly, the 48-50 grade friable ore also dropped by 27% to INR 7,235 from INR 9,945 in October. The 46-48 grade ore also dropped by 27% to INR 6,933 from INR 9,530 in October.
It is interesting to see that, except the +54 grade all other grades of chrome ore have been sold at the floor price. The state owned miner has cut floor prices of all the grades by up to 27% for the auction.
OMC offered a total 29,300 MT of chrome ore and out of this, 27,300 MT are friable Chrome ore of different grades and 2,000 MT of chrome ore concentrate of different grades.
