OMC chrome ore prices have increased in recent e-auction; 46-48 grade fetched highest premium of INR 3,900/MT.
Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) chrome ore prices have incremented for most of the grades in e-auction held on 11 May’15. Prices of +54 grade have increased by 11.93% to INR 14,013/MT from INR 12,519/MT last month (Apr’15). However, prices of 52-54 grade remain almost flat at INR 12,549/MT, which was INR 12,367/MT last month.
Meanwhile, 48-50 grade has fetched a premium of INR 3,100/MT against its floor price of INR 9,657/MT. With this premium, prices have gone up to INR 12,757/MT against INR 11,326/MT last month. Moreover, 46-48 grade band has fetched the highest premium of INR 3,900/MT against the floor price of INR 9,255/MT. With this premium, prices have moved up to INR 13,155/MT, which was INR 11,833/MT in April round of e-auction.
It is to be noted that OMC had offered 26,000 MT of chrome ore in the auction on 11 May’15. Out of this, 25,200 MT were friable ore and 800 MT were concentrating chrome ore. Of this, 24,000 MT are from the SouthKaliapani mines of OMC.
On the other hand, out of 800 MT of concentrate ore, 300 MT would be of 50-52 grade and 200 MT of 48-50 grade with floor price of INR 12,011/MT and INR 10,026/MT respectively.
