Offers for sponge iron across India remain unchanged on Monday. Most of the manufacturers kept their offers firm despite of moderate demand due to lower production.
“Sponge iron industry is running at half of its capacity majorly due to unavailability of iron ore and rising coal prices in domestic market. Only bigger manufacturers are able to offer goods to buyers but they are unwilling to sell at a lower cost.”, said a sponge broker based at Rourkela.

Raigarh= Rs 21,700 + Excise + Tax
Rourkela= Rs 20,900 + Excise + Tax
Hyderabad= Rs 20,500 + Excise + Tax
Bellary= Rs 20,000 + Excise + Tax
Durgapur= Rs 25,000 (Incl All)
