The Odisha state government constituted a five-member panel, headed by principal secretary of the steel and mines department, will meet on 8th of January to work out the modalities on e-auction of Iron ore, Chrome ore and Manganese ore. The panel will also have the chairman of Orissa Mining Corporation and representatives of the finance and law departments as members.
Sources tell that Odisha government is in favour of e-auction to start by April 2013 in association with MSTC to maintain transparency and equal distribution of iron ore at a fair price.
