Bhubaneswar:
As many as 15 industrial projects including Adhunik Metalics, Tata, IMFA, JSPL, Pro Minerals, Imami Papers, Rungta, OPGC and Nalco have been granted environmental clearance by the Odisha Pollution control Board (OPCB) Bhubaneswar. However, Bhushan steel and National Enterprise have been denied environmental clearance.
Nalco has been granted the EC to raise Bauxite from the Panchapattmali and Bhejpur mines. Tata steel has been accorded the EC for its Joda East iron ore mines. Similarly Adhunik Metaliks has got the Environmental Clearance for Kulum iron ore mines.
On the other hand the Meramunduli Dhenkanal based Bhushan Steel has been denied Environmental Clearance for operating its cold Rolled Mill, Galvanised Steel and Coloured coated steel mill. Similarly the proposal of National Enterprises for increase in iron ore production from its Raikela iron ore mines has been rejected due to non submission of mining plan by the company.
